Meet the founder
Tamara Childress, LCSW, LICSW, LSCSW

Passionate About Helping Others
Tamara is a licensed clinical social worker in 12 states. In addition, I am an educator and a trusted leader who is on a mission to educate and empower others to not just talk about their faith but put it to work.
Putting faith into action is not just a saying; it is the life she lives with 20+ years of experience as a mental health professional serving in various leadership roles. Her background also includes over 10 years of mentoring and teaching at the collegiate level, educating the next generation about quality mental health.
Tamara’s mission is not just to cross the lines between church and mental health, but to destroy them by showing how the two are better together.
Work Your Faith came about because of the desire to help others afraid to seek help and being told to "be strong" or just"pray" to tackle mental health symptoms. Understanding from her training and personal experience that faith works with action. Being in the field with several counselors ready and willing to help encourage and support others struggling with mental health symptoms. Tamara became passionate about reducing the stigma in all communities, but especially the African American community and the church.

She was then inspired to work on educating and training others on quality mental health and how they can increase their faith with action.
